Rehabilitation livery

We pride our self on working with your Vet or Farrier to Make sure we provide the best care for your Horse or Pony
This way your horse will heal and recover to their best ability .
We can bandage, walk-in-hand, hand graze. ( horse walker and round pen being  installed September 2018 ) so we can offer this too
Administer medicines, lotions and creams
We also have over  50 acres of Marsh grazing for total turnout for long term injury problems, also 20 acres of  stock fenced paddocks .
Small paddocks /pens for restricted space turnout
8 Loddon Stables on our  court yard  ( we live on site so 30 sec walk from our house )
For Anxious and nervous horses that need box rest we have our own  resident Shetland  ponies that are calm who can be stable buddies so your horse is never alone.
Stable mirrors can be supplied
Boredom toys ( treat balls, hanging swede, carrots nets, licks, radio on talk back ) to help

It’s important that we  choose a bedding that’s suitable for your horse’s injury or illness. we will speak to your vet about what’s most appropriate and whether the bedding should come right up to the doorway or not. It might be that rubber mats near the door will provide suitable cushioning so we don’t have to increase the bed size.

Keeping your horse’s gut moving is vital during a period of box rest to avoid colic. A horse’s gut is stimulated naturally by the horses walking around, so we make sure your horse has ad lib forage with plenty of fresh water. Hard feed will be appropriate to your horse’s needs and will be fed in small wet feeds.

We Monitor your horse’s water intake. We find some horses find lukewarm water more tempting so we do offer this, particularly in winter.

We groom and spend time with your horse as this will help keep them occupied.
Good foot hygiene is important to avoid the risk of thrush, hoofs are picked and oiled.
Pure Feeds are fed here at Back on Track so this included, as is bedding and hay /haylage.

We are based on a farm and so this is a very friendly, calm, not busy yard. 
Horses are retried here so its a slow pace. No one rides, so no coming and goings.
We pride our self on the fact even horses with the most anxious temperament calm down very quickly! 

Prices for Rehabilitation livery are £13.50 a day (all of the above is included in this price )
